Salsa Dance Lessons in Marbella
Our Salsa dance lessons in Marbella are taught step by step, so you can build rhythm, confidence, and partner connection.
Learn Salsa in Marbella With Confidence
Salsa looks fun and effortless when you watch someone dance it well, but there’s a technique behind the movement. Footwork, timing, hand coordination, turns, and partner connection all need to work together if you want to feel comfortable dancing socially.
We welcome students at every age and level. Beginners start with simple steps, rhythm, and partner work, while more experienced students can improve their technique, styling, timing, and confidence.
In our Salsa lessons, you’ll work on:
Basic Salsa steps and timing
Turns, hand coordination, and partner connection
Leading and following clearly
Body movement, rhythm, and musicality
Confidence for social nights, parties, and social events
Salsa Styles We Teach in Marbella
Salsa can look different depending on where you dance, the music, and the social setting. That’s why we teach different styles:
-
This is the most popular Salsa. It’s usually the easiest style for beginners because the timing is clear and the rhythm is easy to hear. The movement is more linear, which means partners usually move back and forth in a line. It feels energetic, sharp, and structured, making it a great choice if you want to build a strong foundation.
-
Salsa On2, also known as Mambo, feels smoother and more connected to the music. The timing breaks on the second beat, which gives it a more musical and elegant feel. It’s a great choice for students who already understand the basics of Salsa and want to improve their timing, control, and musicality.
-
Cuban Salsa has a more relaxed and social feel. Instead of moving mostly in a straight line, you and your partner move around each other. This makes it feel playful and a great choice for Latin nights or casual events.

What Is Salsa Dancing?
Salsa dancing is a lively Latin partner dance built around rhythm, timing, turns, and connection. It’s one of the most popular social dances because you can use it at Latin nights, parties, beach clubs, and events across Marbella and the Costa del Sol.
What makes it different is the speed. It moves quickly, so your feet, hands, timing, and partner connection all need to work together at the same time. That can feel confusing at first, but once you start feeling the rhythm, it becomes much more natural and fun.
Rhythm/Latin Styles
Latin styles focus on rhythm, hip action, and body expression. Partners often dance in open positions, and the movement is sharper and more energetic than in Smooth/Standard styles. In our Latin dance lessons in Marbella, you can learn styles such as Salsa, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Rumba and Swing.
Smooth/Standard Styles
Smooth/Standard styles focus on smooth travel, strong posture, and dancing with a partner in a classic closed position. At our ballroom dance lessons in Marbella, you can learn Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, and Quickstep while building the technique, balance, and confidence these styles need.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
At ARTEM dance studio, no prior experience is needed. We design our beginner classes for people who have never danced before. We’ll break everything down into simple steps, rhythm, and partner work, so you don’t feel rushed or lost.
-
Most of our students feel comfortable dancing socially after about 8 to 12 lessons. The basic footwork and lead-follow connection usually click within the first month. From there, we introduce turns, styling, and musicality. After that, your progress depends on how often you practice.
-
Yes, we welcome solo students and couples at the ARTEM dance studio in Marbella. If you come alone, one of our instructors will partner with you during private lessons. In group classes, we rotate partners so you practice with different partners.
-
Absolutely. In fact, many beginners feel uncoordinated at first. Especially when they’re trying to think about steps, timing, hands, and partner movement all at once.
Salsa needs coordination; for that reason, we start slowly and break everything down into simple rhythm, basic footwork, and easy partner work before adding turns or more complex patterns. With regular practice, coordination will start to feel more natural.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
For women, we recommend leggings, trousers, a skirt, or a dress. For men, comfortable trousers or smart casual clothing will work well.
For shoes, choose something secure and comfortable with a smooth sole. Low heels or dress shoes. Try to avoid heavy rubber-soled sneakers, as they can stick to the floor and make turns harder.
